Lisanne van Engelen
Program Coordinator
Lisanne van Engelen is a program coordinator with Inspired Inc. Lisanne graduated with a MS in Information Systems from the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School in Washington, DC in August 2020.
Through her work at the Career Development Office (CDO) at Carey, Lisanne has been able to explore the world of human relations and coaching. She recognizes the individuality of each person and strives to provide them with opportunities in which they can excel. Lisanne is also passionate about education and technology and is interested in exploring the intersection of the two.
Lisanne excels at communication, teamwork, and organization, all of which have been developed over years of leadership experience. Because of Lisanne’s many interests and capabilities, she has had a wide range of professional experiences, including working as a Technology Services Intern at BNSF Railway, as an Old-Dutch – English translator of an 18th century Dutch play, and as a lead researcher on a project digitizing World War II maps. She is currently a curriculum and content creator as well as the social media manager for EDsnaps, a New York based non-profit organization with a mission to inspire and empower underserved female-identifying students to become exceptional glocal STEM community leaders through hands-on experiences and real-life interactions with professionals.
In her free time, Lisanne loves reading, baking, visiting museums around DC, playing Nancy Drew mysteries, and working on various crafts. She especially loves spending time at the National Postal Museum and finding stamps to add to her ever-growing collection.
Lisanne received a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, with a minor in Geographic Information Science & Technology, and a minor in Dutch Studies. She is currently a board member of DC Dutch.
