Rebecca B. Slocum
Consultant & Coach
Rebecca B. Slocum is a consultant with Inspired-Inc., focused on leadership and organization development. She specializes in change and process facilitation. Rebecca is currently based in Rome where she consults predominantly to the United Nations system on corporate reforms and process design. Prior to Italy, Rebecca lived in Washington, D.C. where she worked with federal and non-profit clients on projects related to culture, structural reform and business model transformation. Both in D.C. and Rome she also provides coaching services, in particular to leaders and their management teams as they go through change.
Before her career as a consultant and receiving her M.S. in Organization Development, Rebecca worked in international relations and sustainable development, focused on the Western Hemisphere. She worked on topics ranging from microfinance to environmental law and trade regulation, including work in Peru, Chile, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Mexico (among others).
With both her UN experience and foreign policy background, Rebecca has traveled and worked abroad extensively. Since becoming a change specialist and OD practitioner, she has found great passion working for multinational organizations as they navigate the complexity of global workforces and transnational problems.
In her work, Rebecca believes firmly in data-driven approaches that engage large systems in change. She partners with leaders to collect data, design solutions, and implement changes that increase effectiveness, align management and build resiliency. She also has a passion for coaching and training, having co-designed and co-facilitated multiple training programs and coaching engagements for clients on leadership, organizational climate, emotional intelligence and managerial skills.
Rebecca has guest presented to graduate-level classes at American University’s M.S. program in Organization Development, served as a coach for a graduate level course at Towson University in Maryland, and facilitated sessions for practitioners on using symbolism in change work.
Rebecca received a B.A. in International Relations with a minor in Spanish from Boston University and a M.S. in Organization Development from American University. She is certified to administer and coach around the EQ-i 2.0 Emotional Intelligence assessment and familiar with several other 360 and psychometric instruments. She is fluent in English, highly proficient in Spanish, and conversational in Italian.
